Wartburg area, KwaZulu-Natal province – South Africa: looking for an experienced, hands-on Workshop Foreman / Manager to take responsibility for our workshop and the maintenance and repair of our earthmoving fleet.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
- Qualified Diesel Mechanic – essential
- Minimum 6 years' relevant experience – essential
- Strong diesel mechanical, hydraulic and fault-finding skills
- Earthmoving/heavy equipment experience preferred
- Previous workshop foreman, management or leadership experience preferred
- Must be computer literate
- Valid driver's licence
- Must be able to communicate in English and isiZulu
- Strong leadership and staff-management ability
- Good planning, organisation and maintenance administration skills.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:
- Manage the day-to-day running of the workshop.
- Supervise and allocate work to workshop staff.
- Oversee repairs, servicing and preventative maintenance.
- Diagnose mechanical, hydraulic and electrical faults.
- Minimise machine downtime.
- Manage service schedules and maintenance records.
- Control parts usage and workshop costs.
- Coordinate breakdown repairs.
- Report on fleet condition and upcoming maintenance requirements.
