Mooinooi Area – North West: The Packhouse manager will be responsible for the day-to-day running of the packhouse, ensuring high standards in production, quality control and packaging of strawberries.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
- Relevant tertiary qualification in Operations Management, Production or Agriculture (advantageous).
- Minimum 3-5 years’ experience in a packhouse / production / operations role (strawberries).
- Proven experience managing teams.
- Strong understanding of food safety, cold chain management, and HACCP principles.
- Excellent leadership, organisational, and communication skills.
- Computer literate (Excel and Outlook).
- Valid driver’s license.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO
- Oversee the daily operations of the packhouse, ensuring targets are achieved.
- Manage and motivate employees across the packing, quality control, and dispatch functions.
- Ensure compliance with food safety, hygiene, and quality standards at all times.
- Manage production schedules and coordinate workflow to optimise efficiency.
- Manage inventory levels and reduce waste while maintaining product freshness.
- Implement and maintain systems for tracking output, labour, and performance metrics.
- Work closely with logistics, procurement, and production teams to ensure on- time delivery.
- Identify and drive opportunities for continuous improvement in productivity and processes.
