Hoedspruit Area – Limpopo: We are seeking an energetic, creative, and reliable Maintenance Manager to lead our facility maintenance team with a strong focus on maintenance planning and execution. This role is critical in ensuring that all facilities operate safely, efficiently, and in line with company standards.

The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing maintenance operations across three packhouses, ensuring optimal equipment uptime, effective preventative maintenance strategies, and the successful planning and completion of improvement projects. The Maintenance Manager will manage staff, develop and implement maintenance schedules, control budgets, and ensure timely execution through strong coordination and resource management.

Strong organisational skills, attention to detail, and a proactive approach to planning are key to success in this role.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Suitable candidates will need to have the following minimum qualifications and relevant experience:

- A minimum of 2 years’ proven experience in maintenance management and planning.

- A minimum of 1 year’s hands-on experience in maintenance or a related trade.

- Holds a relevant qualification in maintenance planning, management, or in the mechanical or electrical field.

- Packhouse experience will be an advantage.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITY AREAS

- Scheduling and project management.

- Planning, managing, and controlling maintenance budgets.

- Managing a proactive preventative maintenance strategy.

- Conduct frequent walkthroughs and regular inspections to ensure the upkeep and maintenance of all facility areas and ensure proper functioning of electrical units and mechanical systems.

- Maintain records of all day-to-day maintenance and service activities undertaken and place orders for spare parts and equipment, ensuring proper documentation.

- Plan and oversee all repairs and installation activities.

- Managing and planning a digital maintenance system (CMMS).

- Ensure compliance with corporate policies and procedures, including Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) requirements while carrying out maintenance functions.

- Oversee maintenance operations across three packhouses, ensuring consistent standards, coordination, and performance across all sites.

Skills and Competencies

- Ability to work under pressure and make decisions quickly.

- Experienced in leading a multidisciplinary maintenance team, fostering a safety-focused and high-performance culture.

- Proficient in diagnosing mechanical and electrical faults to optimise equipment uptime and efficiency.

- Proficient in Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (Assetpool), data analysis, and maintenance KPIs.

- Successfully managed projects on time, including equipment upgrades, installations, and process improvements.
