Lubumbashi Area – DRC (Democratic Republic of Congo): The successful candidate will oversee cattle farming operations.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

- Agricultural Diploma / Degree

- Experienced with management of a large herd of extensive beef cattle (600 breeding cows and followers. Type: Boran, Bonsmara)

- Well versed in all aspects of herd health and welfare (Diseases, parasite control, and vaccinations)

- Formulate and implement breeding and reproduction strategies.

- Breeding season implementation and bull management. Pregnancy diagnosis, calf supervision, weaning strategy and herd productivity monitoring.

- Strong record keeping skills.

- Nutrition and grazing.

- Extensive rotational grazing management system with allied supplementation rations produced and formulated on site.

- Financial planning - Budgets, accurate record keeping and accounts.

- Management. Staff training and supervision.

- Ideally proficient in Swahili, Lingala or French but not essential.
