Colenso Area – KwaZulu-Natal: This is a mixed farming operation consisting of 450ha crop farming under irrigation and game farming. If you have the necessary experience in cropping and game with a strong maintenance ability, this position could be for you.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
- Agricultural Diploma / Degree advantageous.
- Min of 3 years previous farm management experience.
- Experience in the following:
o Cropping – maize, soyabean & wheat.
o Game farming.
o Maintenance orientated.
- Ability to speak Zulu.
- Ability to operate tractors and all farm related equipment.
- Valid driver’s license.
RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO
- Management of staff.
- Management of buffalo herds.
- General maintenance, basic building works, repairs to plant & equipment etc.
- Assisting with planting & harvesting of crops.
- Running irrigation systems.
- Game fence construction and maintenance.
- Anti-Poaching tasks.
