MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
- Knowledge of the following will be an advantage:
o Crops growth and deceases.
o Planting of olive trees.
o Harvesting of fruit by hand and machine.
o Identifying plants, pests and weeds.
o Applying pesticides, herbicides or fertilizers to crops.
o Irrigation.
- Business Management knowledge and experience Mathematical and strategic planning skills essential.
o Managerial Skills Human resources.
o Good leadership.
o Must be able to manage and motivate teams.
o Must have the ability to motivate increased production and growth.

- Agricultural Qualification (preferably).
- Experience Essential.
- Olive oil processing food technology education and experience (an advantage).

- Computer Literacy.

- Grove Management
o Cultivation.
o Chemical Pest Control.
o Fertilizer programme.
o Pruning.
o Irrigation.
o Development of new groves.
- Maintenance of farm vehicles, tractors and equipment.
o Keeping all vehicles, tractors and equipment in working condition at all times.
o Oversee repair and maintenance.
o Be able to perform general repairs.
- General farm maintenance and development.
o Buildings maintenance and up-keep.
o Fencing.
o General Hygiene.
o Pest control.
- Management of staff.
o Time schedules.
o Drivers traveling records.
o Staff attendance, leave, warnings and disciplinary hearings.
- Proper record keeping.
o Pest control - e.g. Spray dates, chemicals used, calibration etc.
o Orchard maintenance cultivation details, irrigation schedules etc.
o Packaging material.
o Oil stock.
o Bottling runs.
o Diesel levels and usage.
o Harvesting statistics.
o Intake and weighing of olives during harvesting.
- Harvesting
o On-time delivering of olives at the factory.
o Quantity and quality control of olives delivered to the factory.
o Management of picking procedures and equipment.
o Facilitate harvesting contractors.
o Co-ordinate and select seasonal harvesting contractors and casuals.
o Assist the oil maker in all his duties as required.
o Supervising bottling staff in factory.
o Co-ordinate oil storage.
- Communications
o Work in close relationship with the Financial Manager to co-ordinate orders received from distributors with the bottling and packing process.
o Daily and weekly written status reports regarding all operational activities.
o Provide strategic perspective and operational activities.
o Keeping the owner of the farm informed about the progress of the trees.
o Communication and reporting will be directly with the Managing Director.
