Citrusdal Area, Western Cape Province – South Africa: This role is crucial in the daily operations of the workshop at our packing facility and will report directly to the maintenance manager.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
- Grade 12.
- Trade certificate in Boiler Making or Fitting/Turning or Welding.
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a mechanical workshop environment.
- Code 10 Drivers License.
- Ability to balance planned work with urgent operational requirements.
- Strong organization skills.
- Strong communications skills.
- Detail orientated.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES :
- Implementation of good housekeeping practices in workshop.
- Management of packhouse equipment spares and maintenance consumable stock levels.
- Assistance with packhouse related breakdowns in the form of repairing or assembling parts in the workshop.
- Fabrication of parts and equipment that will improve production efficiencies, ergonomics and housekeeping.
- Liaison with service providers on the manufacturing of spares and parts and timely delivery thereof.
- Management of power tools and lifting equipment including booking of tools/equipment and related compliances (Load tests, inspections, tool maintenance etc.)
- Execute maintenance tasks during post season maintenance plan.
- Ensure health and safety standards are followed, and safe working practices are executed within the workshop.
