Hoedspruit Area – Limpopo: The successful candidate will drive operational efficiency and production throughputs within the company with experience in packhouse operations with soft citrus or hard citrus or subtropical fruits

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

· Grade 12

· Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a Production Manager role or similar within the fruit packing industry.

· Experience working with mechanical sizer is beneficial

· Relevant operations or agricultural qualification is advantageous

COMPETENCIES AND SKILLS REQUIRED

· Strong communication and interpersonal skills

· Excellent problem solving, analytical and numerical abilities are crucial

· Excellent knowledge and computer skills (MS Office)

· Effective handling of detailed information and consistent attention to detail

· Must be a team player

· Ability to work with little supervision and track multiple processes

KEY ACCOUNTABILITY AREAS

Operations

· Monitor the weekly packing and pre-sorting plan, and daily packing programs

· Ensure relevant quality controls are in place, adhere to and meet customer expectations

· Productivity monitoring and improvement

· Control process to ensure ordering of materials match packing requirements

· Ensure that stock control processes and transactions are in line with systems requirements and best practices

· Ensure efficient packing process that optimise the use of resources and achieve set capacity and productivity levels

· Verifying stock availability and investigating delays

· Executing production plans

· Computing the quantities, qualities and types of materials required by production programmes.

· Controlling expenditure and ensuring the efficient use of resources

· Oversee chemical stock and overseeing the mixture thereof

· Liaise with maintenance team to ensure effective functioning of pack house

· Must be willing to work irregular hours, including night shift.

Quality and Compliance

· Ensure relevant safety controls and standards are in place according to HACCP/BRC and compliance standards

· Ensure that all work areas and personnel comply with safety regulations and procedures

Human Resource Management

· Overseeing the selection, training and performance of staff.

· Manage staff members by rewarding and disciplining staff members, addressing complaints and resolving problems.

· Manage and maintain effective relationships with employees, supervisors, and other managers.

· Manage timesheets, clocking, absenteeism, performance evaluations
