Uitenhage Area – Eastern Cape: This role is central to the operational performance of the nursery. The Production & Propagation Coordinator is responsible for planning, scheduling and continuously improving all aspects of plant production — from propagation through to finished crop availability. Working across a diverse range of plant species, product lines and growing systems, the successful candidate will combine strong analytical and planning skills with solid horticultural knowledge to drive efficiency, reduce production costs, and deliver consistent wholesale-quality plants on schedule.

This is a hands-on, results-driven position that requires someone equally comfortable working with data and spreadsheets as they are walking the production blocks and engaging with growing teams.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

- BSc Horticulture or BSc Agriculture (Plant Production or related field).

- National Diploma: Horticulture or equivalent NQF Level 6 or higher.

- Degree or Diploma in Industrial Engineering (Agriculture), Operations Management or Production Planning.

- Certification in Supply Chain Management, Project Management or Production Planning and Control.

- Minimum 2–3 years in a production planning, operations coordination, or horticulture management role.

- Prior experience in wholesale horticulture or large-scale agriculture is a strong advantage.

- Demonstrated ability to plan and manage multi-species crop schedules in a commercial growing environment.

- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel — scheduling models, production dashboards, cost tracking.

- Exposure to ERP or production management software (Pastel).

- Sound understanding of plant propagation biology and commercial growing principles — essential.

- Structured, analytical thinker who is comfortable working with production data and numbers.

- Strong organiser capable of managing multiple crop lines and competing priorities simultaneously.

- Initiative-taking and accountable — can work independently and as part of a broader team.

- Hands-on mindset — comfortable in an outdoor agricultural production environment.

- Reliable, detail-oriented, and committed to quality outcomes.
