MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
- Relevant trade test qualifications preferred
- Strong background in mechanical and electrical systems
- A minimum of 10 years within the maintenance field
- Solid understanding of electrical systems (including panel wiring), motors, drives, and mechanical components.
- VSD /PLC drives experience will be an advantage
- Experience in an agricultural, horticultural, or rural infrastructure setting
- Understanding of solar and generator systems
- Certification in workplace safety or project management (desirable but not required)
- Experience with irrigation and reticulation systems (including pumps, valves, and controllers)
- Familiarity with building repairs, construction, or rural infrastructure projects
- Proven team leadership and labour management experience
- Solid project planning and execution skills
- Ability to diagnose, prioritize, and delegate tasks effectively
- Competency with basic reporting, documentation, and planning tools
- Driver’s license (essential) – machinery tickets an advantage
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO
- Manage, inspect, and maintain all mechanical, electrical, and irrigation systems/ equipment/ vehicles across the property
- Oversee building maintenance and small-scale construction or upgrade projects
- Coordinate and lead a team of tradespeople, contractors, and general labourers
- Plan and execute preventative maintenance schedules for all critical systems and machinery
- Troubleshoot and resolve breakdowns efficiently to minimize downtime
- Manage infrastructure-related capital improvement projects from planning to delivery
- Ensure compliance with all safety, environmental, and operational standards
- Maintain clear records, maintenance logs, and progress reports for farm management
