The Macadamia Manager will be responsible for the full day-to-day management of a 400-hectare macadamia orchard spread across two farms.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
- Degree in Agriculture/horticulture preferred
- Minimum 2 years in orchard or row crop operations; macadamia experience preferred.
- Strong organizational and problem-solving capabilities.
- Experience in supervising labor and working with agricultural machinery.
- Basic knowledge of agronomy, irrigation, and orchard operations.
- Good communication and reporting skills.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE
- Plan and implement daily and weekly farm programs across both sites.
- Monitor orchard health, irrigation efficiency, and pest/disease risk.
- Execute nutrient programs, ground preparation, and spray schedules.
- Coordinate labor teams for pruning, slashing, and harvest activities.
- Support machinery use, servicing, and field record keeping.
- Supervise dehusking, drying, and nut handling logistics (to be phased in).
- Contribute to data collection, compliance records, and sustainability reporting.
- Participate in training and contribute to the development of operational systems.
- Communicate regularly with the management team, applying feedback to improve outcomes.
