Lilongwe area – Malawi: This role requires a candidate with ownership mentality, strong management, organisational, and practical farming skills.
Due to the remote location of the farm, this position is best suited to candidates who are able to accommodate the lifestyle and logistical requirements associated with living and working on-site.
MINIMUMREQUIREMENTS
· Adegree or diploma in Agriculture and Business Management is desirable.
· Previouslyheld a senior management position.
· Experienceacquired at well run and successful farms with verifiable
· referencesfrom previous farm managers and farm owners.
· Computerskills must include a good level of competence in Excel and Word.
· Theapplicant must also be strong in their understanding of farm
· administrationsystems, and budgeting, as they will be expected to take an
· activerole in overseeing the farm's administration and budget management.
· (Thefarm is supported by a qualified financial controller and administration
· staffwho are there to assist the manager.)
· Itwould be helpful if the candidate is conversant with animal feed
· formulationsand cattle health and veterinary practices
RESPONSIBILITIESINCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO
Assisting the Farm Manager with all duties and heading the Cattle section comprising of:
· 1,000head Breeding Herd.
· 2,000head per annum feedlot.
· Abattoirand butchery
· Grazingmanagement
· Fodderand feed production.
