Graaf Reinet Area – Eastern Cape: Our client is looking for a Diesel Mechanic to join the team. The successful candidate will be a highly motivated and reliable individual capable of problem-solving and forward planning, demonstrating a proven track record of vehicle fleet management and vehicle maintenance with excellent interpersonal skills.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
- Recognized qualification as a diesel mechanic.
- Minimum 3 years of experience working on diesel vehicles.
- Experience in general maintenance of water pumps and other machinery.
- Experience in a supervisory/people management role.
- Passion for vehicles.
- General ability to problem-solve and fix things.
- Keen attention to detail.
- Proficient in English and Afrikaans.
- Excellent organizational skills.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Computer literacy.
- Teamwork.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:
- Maintenance of the reserve’s fleet of vehicles, including preventative and adhoc maintenance.
- Ordering of parts and ensuring their timely delivery.
- Maintenance of a neat and organized workshop with an adequate stock of frequently used spares.
- Supervision and training of workshop staff.
- Contribution towards sustainability goals by constantly seeking ways to make vehicle and workshop operations more environmentally friendly.
- Repairs and maintenance of gate motors and solar and electrical water pumps.
- Effective financial management of workshop operations through the administration and recording of orders, stock control and working within agreed budgets.
- Record-keeping of vehicle service schedules and other related administrative tasks.
- Ensuring quality and care of workshop equipment and products in accordance with standard operating procedures.
