Lusaka Area – Zambia: The Center Pivot Technician is responsible for the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of center pivot irrigation systems. This role ensures that all installations are completed efficiently, safely, and according to company standards and client requirements.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
- Diploma or technical certificate in electrical, mechanical, or agricultural engineering (or related field).
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in irrigation systems or agricultural installations.
- Strong understanding of electrical panels, pumps, and hydraulic systems.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings.
- Willingness to travel frequently and work in rural areas.
- Strong teamwork, problem-solving, and communication skills.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assemble, install, and test center pivot irrigation systems on client sites.
- Perform electrical and mechanical troubleshooting and repairs.
- Conduct routine maintenance and inspections on installed systems.
- Ensure all installations meet company quality and safety standards.
- Assist in system calibrations, alignment, and pressure testing.
- Work closely with the installation manager and project team to deliver projects on schedule.
- Train local workers or clients on proper operation and maintenance of systems.
- Prepare field reports and communicate progress to the Installation Manager.
