Western Cape area – South Africa: The ideal candidate will be someone who has strong relationships with growers in the Western province.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
· Agricultural degree/ diploma or related field
· 15+ years of experience in working with growers and packhouse
· Must have relevant experience in procurement of Apple and Pear.
· Must be willing to travel
DUTIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO
· Sourcing Apple and Pear
· Identify, Contract-with & supervise local farmers to source high-quality fruits
· Monitor and evaluate the quality of produce to meet company standards
· Packhouse Coordination
· Identify suitable pack houses for packing and storing the sourced fruits
· Engage with packhouse management to ensure compliance with packaging standards and timelines
· Oversee the packing process to ensure fruits are packed correctly and efficiently without any wastage.
· Shipping and Logistics
· Ensure the shipping of packed fruits to India and other overseas markets at the most competitive rates
· Work with logistics partners to ensure timely and cost-effective transportation
· Oversee and manage export documentation and ensure compliance with international shipping regulations.
